Is this you?

You’ve spent years in retirement plan administration and you know the difference between work that’s technically complete and work that’s genuinely right. That distinction matters to you — a lot. You’re the person who catches what others miss, and you do it without making it personal. You hold the standard without losing the relationship.

You’re as comfortable discussing a compliance correction with a colleague as you are identifying a systemic training gap with leadership. You communicate clearly, you think strategically, and you understand that quality review isn’t just about finding errors — it’s about making the whole organization better.

What you’ll do here

As a Quality Review Specialist, you are MAP’s last line of assurance before work reaches clients. You review annual valuations, compliance packages, government filings, and correction calculations — ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to MAP’s quality standards. You also serve as a trusted technical resource across the organization, helping teams resolve complex issues and continuously improve.

Quality Review

  • Review 8–10 annual valuations per day for accuracy across census data, reconciliation, compliance testing, regulatory filings, late deposit corrections, and documentation
  • Ensure all reviewed work complies with federal regulations and meets MAP’s quality standards
  • Identify and return inaccurate valuations to the preparer with clear, constructive guidance
  • Review assigned QDROs
  • Advise when corrective plan amendments are needed
  • Escalate review items to the team manager when appropriate

Technical support & collaboration

  • Respond to and assist with inquiries and escalated issues from team members covering plan qualification, fiduciary responsibility, regulatory issues, plan establishment, mergers, spin-offs, plan provisions, terminations, and compliance corrections
  • Coordinate with client-facing team members to address plan qualification and fiduciary issues
  • Collaborate with the QR Team and Compliance Manager to identify patterns of error and recommend targeted training
  • Work with Directors of Account Management and Training to drive ongoing improvements in operational workflow

Standards & communication

  • Serve as a responsive, reliable internal resource — timely communication via Teams, phone, virtual meetings, and email
  • Set clear expectations with colleagues and directors
  • Maintain and model a high standard of professionalism and accuracy in all reviewed work
  • Actively participate in team and manager meetings
  • Pursue ongoing industry education — webinars, certifications, and designations — to stay current with IRC, ERISA, and relevant regulatory developments

What you bring

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in third-party administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial services operations environment
  • Deep knowledge of retirement plan administration, compliance testing, and regulatory filings
  • Strong command of IRC, ERISA, and applicable federal regulations
  • Excellent communication skills — you can deliver hard feedback constructively and explain complex issues clearly
  • PensionPro and FTW experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related tools
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional time management and the ability to work across routine and non-routine challenges
