Is this you?

You’ve been doing this long enough to know that retirement plan administration requires both technical expertise and human judgment. You can navigate a complex compliance question and a difficult client conversation in the same afternoon — and make both look easy.

You don’t need close supervision to manage your book of business. You set the standard, and you help the people around you rise to it. You’re ready for a role where your experience is genuinely valued and your growth isn’t capped.

What you’ll do here

As a Relationship Manager II, you’re the primary contact for a book of retirement plan clients and their financial advisors. You operate with a high degree of autonomy, resolve complex issues independently, and serve as a mentor and resource for the RM I team. This is a role for someone who leads by example.

Client relationships

  • Own the relationship for your assigned clients and advisors — their first call is to you
  • Lead consultation calls with clients, auditors, and advisors on complex plan matters
  • Provide technical and compliance guidance with confidence and clarity
  • Resolve issues proactively — and when ERISA expertise is needed, bring in Plan Consultants as a strategic partner

Plan administration & compliance

  • Manage all deliverables and deadlines for annual plan compliance across a dynamic book of business
  • Prepare census requests, contribution summaries, and refund forms
  • Identify and communicate late deposits and minimum distribution obligations
  • Oversee annual projects — force-outs, annual notices, recordkeeper disclosures
  • Handle distributions, corrections, and complex plan transitions
  • Collaborate with actuaries, plan consultants, and internal teams on plan design and compliance questions

Leadership

  • Serve as a go-to resource, coach, and trainer for Relationship Manager I team members
  • Step in for the team lead when needed, keeping operations moving and decisions sound
  • Actively participate in cross-functional meetings and firm-wide initiatives

Systems & data

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records in PensionPro
  • Update internal workflow systems to reflect client activity
  • Coordinate with Finance on billing and receivables
  • Support onboarding, conversions, and full-cycle plan terminations

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration or client services
  • Strong working knowledge of defined contribution plan compliance — ERISA, DOL, and IRS requirements
  • Proficiency in retirement plan platforms such as PensionPro, Datair, FTW, or ASC
  • Exceptional communication skills — with clients, advisors, auditors, and colleagues
  • The ability to manage a complex, fast-moving book of business without losing the details
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in helping others grow
